Lock 27 Brewing Taproom has an opening for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily oporation in our evolving kitchen. Responsibilities include supervising the food prep, consistency in recipes, being present during peak times to maximize capabilities with team, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen, inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards at all times. Ultimately, the Kitchen Manager will ensure all plates are properly prepared, consistency is in place, plating is correct and our customers have an elevated experience. Responsible for inventory management, cost control for both food and labor, scheduling and accountability. Looking preferably for someone with a corporate background to work closely with our Culinary Director and Gastropub GM.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years work experience as a Kitchen Manager
  • Hands-on experience with product procurement and inventory management
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  • Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus

Responsibilities and Duties of Role:

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Supervise food prep and cooking
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Maintain Cleaning standards in line with Health Department standards
  • Control Food and Labor cost standards
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Hire, Train, and Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • Price menu items in collaboration with the Tap Room Operations Manager
  • Manage weekly procurement activities
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
  • Open to Close procedures in place for cleaning and prep.
