Kitchen Manager

Lock 27 Brewing Taproom is looking for an enthusiastic individual to supervise daily operations in our evolving kitchen. Role responsibilities include supervising the food preparation, consistency in recipes, being present during peak times, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen, inventory and always complying with safety and cleanliness standards. The Kitchen Manager will ensure all plates are properly prepared, consistency is in place, plating is correct, and our customers have an elevated experience. Responsible for inventory management, cost control for both food and labor, and scheduling.  The preferred candidate is someone with some corporate kitchen background able to work closely with our Taproom GM.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ work experience as a Kitchen Manager.
  • Firsthand experience with product procurement and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Conflict management abilities.
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management.

Responsibilities and Duties of Role:

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders.
  • Supervise food prep and cooking.
  • Check food plating and temperature.
  • Maintain Cleaning standards in line with Health Department standards.
  • Control Food and Labor cost standards
  • Hire, Train, and Schedule kitchen staff shifts.
  • Create weekly special menu in collaboration Brewery team.
  • Manage weekly procurement activities.
  • Store food products in compliance with Food Safety Standard
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area.
