Lock 27 Brewing is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Crawford Hoying and Woodard Development on the opening of a second brewery and gastropub located in the heart of the Water Street District. The business will be located on two floors of the historic Delco building currently undergoing renovations. Lock 27 will overlook the public plaza at the main entrance of the Dayton Dragons’ home, 5/3rd Field. The launch is anticipated to occur in April 2017 to coincide with residential occupancy of Delco’s 132 apartment units and the beginning of the Dayton Dragons’ season.
“We are excited to become a part of the burgeoning Dayton marketplace, and are honored to become the first tenant in the long dormant Delco building” says Steve Barnhart, Founder and Brew Master at Lock 27 Brewing. “I am proud to see the pace of redevelopment in Dayton being enabled by Mayor Nan Whaley and the City of Dayton, and particularly excited by the development team’s vision for the Water Street District.” Lock 27’s operations in the Delco building will extend their current gastropub concept on the plaza level, with an extensive brew house located in the basement. “While the two operations are physically located on separate floors, we have a plan in place that will create a cohesive gastropub and brewery experience.”
