Muletier Farmhouse Ale
Saisons are farmhouse ales that were traditionally brewed in the winter made to be consumed throughout the warm summer months. While modern farmhouse beer isn’t brewed for the benefit of seasonal workers on the farm, the taste is enough to make you reminisce about a simpler time on a hot summer day, no matter where you drink it.

Here’s the Story
Muletier is French for Mule Skinner, a mule driver who was given the nickname for being able to “skin” or outsmart a mule. Some of the most stubborn animals alive, it was the Mules job to pull the canal boats along the Miami Erie Canal. A mule driver had to have skill, wit, and determination in order to control the unruly mules. Just like the mules of old, this historic French Saison is a difficult beer to master. We brew in the true farmhouse tradition with the flavors coming from uncontrolled fermentation. Authentically Different and traditionally brewed, we’ve skinned this Saison.
This is a very complex style; many are very fruity in the aroma and flavor. Look for earthy yeast tones, mild to moderate tartness. Lots of spice and with a medium bitterness. They tend to be semi-dry with many only having a touch of sweetness.
